The Lone Movie Theater Of St. Kitts

I was surprised when I learned this, but St. Kitts actually has a small movie theater downtown. I swear that before we came here, we were told somewhere along the way that there was no theater. But lo and behold, it is here, and it actually shows current movies! But it also has many rumors associated with it ("it is really dirty", "the place is falling apart", "wear pants and tennis shoes because it has so many cockroaches and rats walking around", "keep your feet on your seat and not on the floor, see previous rumor for reason"....etc.) So a big group of us decided that we would go together and experience this ourselves. And what better movie to watch in a sketchy old movie theater than Jackass 2!?

Cory buying our tickets. Now this is one thing I WILL NOT complain about...the cost. Tickets for both of us cost $20EC, which is only $7.40 US!!! It is almost $10 per person in the US nowadays, and here it is less than that for two!



This is one of the concession stands, one that isn't used much. There is another one right when you walk inside, and this is where we bought our snacks. What did they offer, you wonder? Popcorn, Oh Henry candy bars, KitKats, Coke, and beer. That's about it. And yes, I said beer.



There were 8 of us total from Ross, and we all sat in the front row of the balcony above the rest of the theater. Here are Justin and Bill exploring the lower level before the movie starts



Of course, Justin and Cory had to get beers at the movie. When will they ever get to do this again when they return to the US? They even have an intermission during the middle of the movie where you can go back and get more snacks (or beer) if you would like.

What about the rumors I mentioned in the beginning, I'm sure you are wondering....well, it was a bit rundown and dusty, but not horrible. Cory's seat did break and drop him to the ground halfway through the movie....it was hilarious, I wish I had taken a picture of the seat afterwards. We all wore our pants and close toed shoes, but there were no insect or rodent sightings. As for the movie we saw.....hilarious and disgusting at the same time. We loved it, and can't wait to go back again.
