Well, it is hard to believe that Cory is already done with his first semester at Ross, because it means we are one semester closer to moving back home! But it also means that it is time for a new group of students to arrive for their first semester.
When the new residence halls at Ross open up (hopefully in April), my department will be in charge of orientation. But until then, Michele in the Housing Office continues to plan and coordinate everything. Since she has been doing this for so long, and has the whole thing mastered, we shadowed her and took notes as she prepared for the new incoming class, and then we participated in the orientation. So instead of being part of orientation like we were back in August when we first arrived....I was an Orientation Leader!
It was a lot of work, early mornings and late nights, but it was fun meeting all of the new students and helping them get settled into their new lives.
You can see me on the right side of the picture, inside the bus, giving out some instructions
And here is our bus full of happy students, preparing to take a tour around the island
We made a stop at Black Rocks along the way to enjoy the view...it was windy!
Me and Treg
And here is part of our group out at dinner at the Marriott
And like last semester, at the end of the week, we were treated to another catamaran trip
Working hard, or hardly working? Me, my coworker Treg, and our fearless leader Keith
It was a beautiful day
Snorkeling was fun, the water was warm, and there were lots of cool things to see, including squid
And now that orientation is over, we are already planning for the next group in May. And hopefully May will also include the grand opening of the new Campus Living Residences, which will not only house our offices, they will house us as well! Can't complain when your job includes free rent and utilities, and your office is one building away from where you live.
Here is how the buildings are looking so far
Can't wait for that ocean view!

The new housing units look great! Oceanside living and working... not bad! Sure beats a channel lot on Lake Butte des Morts, WI ! Pretty cool perk with your new job, Julia ! :)
